Educational Activities
The San Francisco Zoo offers plenty of activities to keep guests interested in the wonders of the plants and animals. Bike Abouts are scheduled monthly, and give guests a chance to bring their bikes to the zoo for a 1-1/2 hour morning riding tour; these tours are guided by informative docents and guests will see the zoo animals as they start their day.
An exciting way to experience the zoo with friends is to attend Overnights at the zoo; in this group activity guests get to experience the Wild Nights program where they are taken on a guided night safari through the zoo. Also with the Overnight activity guests get personal meetings with the zoo keepers, and education and fun night time activities, then visitors will sleep in a heated building and get hot cocoa, coffee, and a continental breakfast in the morning.
The Zoo also offers and educational lecture series entitled Wild Places, Wild Things! Conservation Lecture Series. This series gives the public a chance to meet renowned conservation experts from all over the globe, they will share stories, photos, and refreshments while talking about important conservation issues.
